Dr. Lava Joshi is leading the Department of Critical Care and Non-invasive Cardiology in Nepal Mediciti Hospital as the head of the department. He manages the team of doctors and technicians who deal with non-invasive tests in cardiology and link them to internists as needed and leads the development of multi-disciplinary work in Critical Care.
Dr. Joshi is dedicated to improve postgraduate medical training in Nepal. In his presidency at Society of Internal Medicine of Nepal (SIMON), he had organised many national and international meetings. He developed working partnership with the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and helped with the first ever Overseas Regional RCPE meeting in Nepal in 2017 which will be continued every two years with a planning of another joint SIMON/RCPE in 2019. He has also worked with Nepal Medical Council to develop revalidation system in Nepal on the basis of CPD points. He has contributed RCPE to popularize MRCP programme in Nepal and working towards conducting MRCP examination in Nepal.
Dr. Lava was involved in setting up Nepalese Society of Critical Care Medicine also holding the General Secretary and later president position of this society.His involvement in bringing together all other stake holders like Anaesthesiologist, Critical care Nurses and SIMON for the society is very appreciable. I has worked with Nepal Critical Care Development Foundation for creating awareness and other social activities on Sepsis Day and Hand Hygiene Campaign.
