Prof. Dr. Shishir Lakhey

Prof. Dr. Shishir has been instrumental in the inception and establishment of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Nepal Mediciti Hospital and has been providing orthopaedic services as the Principal Consultant and Head of Department of Orthopaedic services since it became operational on September 17, 2017. He was working in Kathmandu Medical College (KMC) as Professor and Head of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery before he joined Nepal Mediciti. He was also working as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in National Institute of Neurological and Allied Sciences (NINAS), and Himal Hospital, Kathmandu before joining Nepal Mediciti. He had worked in B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan as Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery before joining Kathmandu Medical College in 2003.

He has nineteen years of experience of teaching MBBS students and twelve years in teaching postgraduate (MS Orthopaedics) residents. He also taught B.Sc nursing students for four years while at BPKIHS. He has been a past examiner for MBBS students of Kathmandu and Tribhuwan Universities and MS (Orthopaedic) students of Kathmandu University and BPKIHS.
