TESTS 

1. The tests you require will depend on your visa category.
2. Your referral letter will indicate lists tests that are necessary for you.
3. 501 code - Includes medical examination.
4. 502 code - Chest X-ray (above 11 years of age).
5.  705 code - Serum Creatinine.
6. Some children between 2~11 years may require TB screening test.
7. Panel physician may request additional test as per clinical requirement.

PROCESS DURING IMMIGRATION MEDICAL EXAMINATION

1. Registration at Registration Desk.
2. ID Check – Referral Letter, Original passport and Declaration form.
3. Photograph
4. Height, Weight and Blood Pressure measurement.
5. Blood Test- Serum Creatinine.
6. 501 code - External physical examination (includes vision test). 
7. 502 code - Chest- X ray.

FOR PREGNANT WOMAN

1. Pregnant women will have option to choose X- ray examination until after delivery. Kindly discuss with our panel physician for more details.

REPORT DISSEMMINATION

1. You do not have to collect any report once all your examinations are complete.
2. Your report is forwarded electronically via e - Medical to the department of Home Affairs within three working days in most cases.           
3. If your examination or test results are abnormal, our panel physician will inform you during the consultation.

UNDRESSING FOR MEDICAL EXAMINATION

1. As per guidelines provided by Department of Home Affairs, you will need to undress to your innerwear.
2. We provide gowns to both male and female candidates and every effort is taken to maintain your privacy. Only external physical examination is conducted.
3. We offer chaperone to all applicants. All children must be examined in the presence of a guardian.

INCASE X RAY SHOWS ABNORMALITY

1. The panel physician will inform you about the result.
2. Sometimes e-medical can auto generate further tests depending on the findings.
3. Once your case is submitted, MOC in Australia will review your case and advice if any further tests are required. Same will be notified to the client via email.

TESTS FOR TB

1. TB is tested by examination of sputum (Authorized at IOM Laboratory only).
2. This is done in two ways- smear and culture.
3. Kindly note TB culture report takes 8 weeks for the results.
4. There is no extra charge for TB tests and treatment; it is included in the Hospital bill.
    

TB SCREENING FOR CHILDREN

1. Children between the age of 2 & 11 years and applying for a permanent / provisional visa are required to undergo a TB screening test.

SCREENING TEST FOR TB

1. There are two different types of screening tests:
2. Mantoux- is an intra dermal test (skin).
3. IGRA- Interferon Gamma Release Assay is a blood test. 
    

RESULT OF MANTOUX TEST

1. Result of Mantoux test is recorded after 48-72 hours of injection. Kindly report to Immigration Clinic for the final report. Please ensure the child does not leave Kathmandu until the final report is provided.
2. Our panel physicians will advise if additional examination is required following the result of Mantoux test.

WAITING TIME IN CLINIC

1. Generally, medical examination, blood test and X- ray are completed within two-three hours.
