Dr. Mahesh Bahadur Adhikari is the Principal Consultant and Head of the Department of Urology at Nepal Mediciti. With over 20 years of extensive experience, he is one of Nepal’s most experienced and trusted urosurgeons, specializing in advanced endourology and comprehensive management of urinary stone disease and prostate disorders. Dr. Adhikari has played a pivotal role in developing and expanding endourology services across leading hospitals in Kathmandu and nationwide, helping thousands of patients achieve improved urological health.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Adhikari supervises the prestigious FCPS Urology postgraduate training program under the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), shaping the next generation of urologists in Nepal.

Dr. Adhikari completed his MBBS in 1997 and earned an MS in General Surgery from the Institute of Medicine (IOM) in 2002. He further enhanced his skills with specialized fellowships in Urology (2007) and Uro-Oncology (2016) at the National University Hospital (NUH) in Singapore. His international training also includes advanced urological fellowship programs in Japan, reflecting his commitment to adopting cutting-edge techniques.

Before joining Nepal Mediciti, Dr. Adhikari served as a Senior Consultant at a leading private hospital for over 15 years and was an Assistant Professor at Kathmandu University Medical School for six years, contributing significantly to academic medicine and urology education.

A respected academician, Dr. Adhikari has published numerous research articles in national and international journals and frequently presents at major urology conferences. Notably, he performed a live demonstration of Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) at the 2011 Asian Endourology Conference.

Dr. Adhikari serves as the President and Chairman of the Academic Committee of the Nepal Association of Urological Surgeons (NAUS). He has also held key leadership positions within NAUS, including Executive Member, Treasurer, and General Secretary. He remains actively engaged with the Urological Association of Asia, the American Urological Association, and the International Society of Urology.
