Dr. Neeraj Joshi is a highly experienced Gastroenterologist, Liver Specialist (Hepatologist), and Internal Medicine Physician with over two decades of international and national experience. He completed his MBBS from the University of Rajasthan in 1995, followed by an MD in Internal Medicine from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and Bir Hospital in 1999. He was awarded the Prof. GP Acharya Gold Medal for being the best MD graduate of the year.
In 2000, Dr. Joshi advanced his expertise by training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at renowned UK institutions, including Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Morriston Hospital, Swansea, and the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. After earning his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), he served as a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at Royal Glamorgan Hospital, UK, where he led clinical teams in managing complex gastrointestinal and liver diseases, trained junior doctors, and contributed to the development of departmental endoscopy policies. He also held the position of Honorary Consultant Gastroenterologist at the University Hospital of Wales before returning to Nepal in December 2010.
Since then, Dr. Joshi has been a visiting faculty member at Nepal Medical College, teaching postgraduate trainees in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and advanced endoscopic procedures. He is also trained in Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) from the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad, and has performed over 1,000 EUS procedures in Nepal, making him a leading expert in advanced endoscopic diagnostics and treatment.
Dr. Joshi specializes in advanced therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, including EUS and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). His clinical interests focus on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), liver disease management, and functional gastrointestinal disorders. With a strong commitment to ethical, evidence-based, and holistic patient care, Dr. Joshi tailors his approach to meet the individual needs of each patient.
He has also contributed numerous research articles on liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease, published in respected national and international medical journals.
