Principal Consultant
Dr. Smrity Maskey is a highly accomplished Obstetrician and Gynecologist and currently serves as the Principal Consultant at Nepal Mediciti Hospital. With extensive experience in women’s health, she earned her MS in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the prestigious King Edward Medical University, Lahore, Pakistan. She began her medical journey at Nepal Medical College, later contributing significantly to medical education as a Lecturer and Associate Professor at KIST Medical College and Teaching Hospital.
A certified laparoscopic surgeon by AMASI, Dr. Maskey was honored with the Young Gynecologist Award at AOCOG Malaysia in 2015, reflecting her early recognition as a leader in women’s healthcare.
Dr. Maskey is an influential figure in both clinical and policy-making circles. She currently holds leadership positions as the Vice President (2023–24) of the Menopause Society of Nepal (MESON) and Joint General Secretary (2023–24) of the Nepal Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (NESOG). Additionally, she has been serving as a Board of Director at Hamro Life Bank since 2020.
Her commitment to health system strengthening is evident through her consultancy work with national and international health organizations, including the Ministry of Health and Population (Nepal), USAID, IPAS, SOLID Nepal, Jhpiego, and GIZ. Through these roles, Dr. Maskey has helped shape maternal health, safe abortion, and gender-based violence (GBV) interventions in Nepal.
A passionate advocate for medical education and capacity building, Dr. Maskey has led and facilitated numerous training programs focusing on GBV awareness, clinical skill enhancement, and safe motherhood. She is also a certified pre and postnatal fitness Instructor and Insanity Workout Trainer, uniquely combining medical expertise with wellness advocacy.
