Low Back Pain
Low back pain is the most common musculoskeletal complaint worldwide. Low back pain affects up to 80% of the population at some point in their lives. Living with chronic low back pain can be a difficult challenge and can prevent a person to lead a normal life. So, anyone struggling with low back pain will benefit from visiting a Chiropractor.
Causes:
Back pain can vary from a dull, aching to a shooting, burning or stabbing sensation. Sometimes, low back pain may radiate to your buttocks or down the back of your legs which is called sciatica. Bending, twisting and turning, lifting, sitting standing or walking can make it worse.
Consult a doctor if you have back pain with bowel or bladder control problems, leg weakness, fever, or pain when coughing or peeing. Your Chiropractor will perform a thorough Chiropractic examination which involves:
• Detailed patient medical history
• Orthopedic exam
• Neurological exam
• Posture analysis
• If needed, X-ray/CT scan/MRI/ EMG/NCT studies in order to confirm the patient’s diagnosis. Under certain circumstances, laboratory services may be employed in order to help determine whether an infection or other condition might be causing pain.
Once the diagnosis is established, the doctor will determine if Chiropractic services are right for the patient. Then, the doctor will explain the status of the patient’s condition, and recommend a treatment plan. Chiropractic treatment is tailored to the patient’s age, size, and spinal conditions.
